CITIZENS FOR RESPONSIBLE MEDIA
2820 Griffin Avenue, Suite 202
Enumclaw, WA 98022

Dear Reader:

Citizens for Responsible Media is a non-profit 501C3 organization committed to bringing positive, enlightening messages to children, adolescents and adults through the visual and performing arts. Citizens for Responsible Media, CRM, founded in Enumclaw, WA in 1998, grew out of a need recognized by healthcare providers, psychologists, teachers, school counselors and concerned parents to find ways to encourage film and video productions which promote themes of honesty, respect for others, and responsibility.

There has been much literature citing the correlation between violent television and film images and aggressive behavior. In order to create media which addresses conflict resolution and coping skills with patience, thoughtfulness, and respect for others; we believe the public will need to take it upon itself to support filmmakers who are committed to these ideals.

Citizens for Responsible Media, in association with Northwest Film Projects, has developed a student mentoring program that helps young adults develop media literacy skills from story development to completion of a finished product while learning various aspects of, project management, team building techniques, and interpersonal communication. CRM recognizes the need to support films which nurture the human soul and strengthen the human spirit.

Sincerely,

Mary L. Ballard, M.D.
