The independent film The Immigrant Garden evolved
from a Chehalis film class taught by Hollywood producer C.
Tad Devlin , a Lewis County native. Almost 300 residents of
Lewis County performed in. the movie or worked on the set
of the film, which is based on the play by Caroline Wood.
The family film, about a young woman discovering her
roots circa 1910, will be presented by the Poulsbo/North Kitsap
Rotary Club three times on Friday, July 19 at the Presidents
Hall at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds, 1200 N.W. Fairgrounds
Road.
Thirty percent of the proceeds from the screenings will go
to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The rest helps
pay for the production of the film, which reportedly raised
the spirits of residents suffering from slumping lumber prices
and increased logging restrictions. The Immigrant Garden
is screened atv4:30, 7vand 9pm. Tickets tothe matinee are
$5, the two evening shows are $8. They can be purchased at.
Central Market. in Poulsbo, the Appletree Cove Animal Hospital
in Kingston, Kitsap Farm and Garden Tractor in Silverdale
and the YMCA of Bremerton.
